haha. i love this. it's so true. it's almost like having CMJ or SXSW performances on your band resume is supposed to help you(?)
i wanted to see M.I.A at CMJ and was told (by a friend in the industry) that the show was sold out to mostly "industry" people.
there was some big controversy this yr at cmj because people figured out that they weren't listening to all submission tapes even though they say in their official policy that they do. does anyone remember this?
i heard all about the controversy. cmj doesnt do anything for bands anymore except take their money. and, this guy's cute

I went this year. I liked it. Great way to get a bunch of bands together in the same place. Sure, it's imperfect but it's a treat for the pure music lover.
