What is UI?
UI is a free video destination site for indie bands. We find talent in the underground indie world and interview them for current fans to enjoy and for new music aficionados to discover. On top of it, we encourage users to talk to the bands by uploading v-sponses and share your thoughts and ideas with them.

Is UI free?
If you want to watch band videos or v-spond to the artists or other users, it's all free! The featured indie acts will sometimes have music or merch they want to sell which is the only thing that costs money if you want 'em. Otherwise, enjoy everything for free.

How do I watch videos?
Watching videos on UI is simple. Login and click on your favorite topic or genre or search for the indie bands that you're into. Click play on the video player and rate it! You can also watch v-sponses from other users in the community.

How do I make a video?
You'll need to have a device that can capture your v-sponse such as a webcam or even a camcorder. Save your v-sponses to your computer and upload them to the UI site or if you feel like being creative, edit them with Windows Movie Maker or iMovie.

Do I have to sign up to upload v-sponses?
Yes. You must login to the site before uploading your responses.

How long can my v-sponse be?
Most v-sponses are under a minute, but the max length we allow is 03 min.

What video file formats can I upload?
We support AVI, WMV, QT, MOV, MPEG, MPG and MP4. For best viewing results, please make sure your video frame size is at least 360x240 pixels.

What are tags?
Tags are keywords that describe videos. Tags help you find new band videos and will help you label v-sponses you upload so that other people can find them with ease.

Sometimes I see duplicate entries for band videos. Why is that?
Our bands have eclectic sounds so we classify them under a variety of genres. Also, the crux of their conversations fall under many of topics so we lump them under different categories.

I cannot login to the site.
Make sure you have cookies enabled in your browser preferences. If you have cookies disabled, our system will not have your history and will be unable to detect that you were previously on the site. Therefore, you will be asked to login.

The videos won't play - what's wrong?
All of the videos on UI are streamed through a Flash player, so you need to have the latest version of Macromedia Flash installed on your computer. To download Flash, please visit Adobe.

The video keeps stopping while I'm watching it. How do I fix that?
More than likely you are on a low speed internet connection and you will have to wait momentarily while the entire video downloads to your computer. If you are using a wireless connection try plugging into a landline.

Why can't I hear the audio when I'm watching a video?
First check the volume controls on your computer to make sure the sound is on. If the volume is on and you still can't hear audio, check to see if your system is running the most recent version of Flash Player.

My video is taking a long time to upload. Is something wrong?
With a high speed internet connection, your video upload should take approx. 1-3 min for every 1 MB. If your video is large, it may take longer to upload.

Why aren't my v-sponses posting as soon as I upload them?
There is a 24 hour turn around process when you upload v-sponses. This is for our protection and yours as we don't want derelicts uploading obscene or illegal videos in response to what you say or what the bands say. We don't ever censor what you say as long as it's not illegal. This is your platform to speak your mind and share whatever thoughts or ideas you have with the music community. We just need to make sure things like obscene content or corrupted videos don't make it onto the site.

Make sure you have an account that has been approved to upload video. Check to see that you are uploading the correct file type. See that your internet connection is stable and not dropping out.

You can't edit or delete comments you make on other videos. Once you've made a comment, it can only be removed by us.

What is your policy on copyright infringement?
UI requires that all users control all the rights in the content/v-sponses they upload. If we are notified that v-sponses are not wholly owned and/or infringes on another person's copyrighted material, the content will be removed from the site and the user who illegally uploaded the v-sponse will be killed. If you're into the indie music scene and you know your shit and got what it takes to find talent for the site, start by uploading v-sponses. If we think you've got the cred, we'll reach out to you. There's a lot going on here and if you're as good as you say, we want you finding the best indie bands to feature on this site. You can even interview them if you've got what it takes. Trust us, the gusto is in your v-sponse so show us what you've got!

What is UI?
